Special Picture # 80 – The Guion Place, New Rochelle, NY

The Guion Place, Eastchester, NY

According to the Daily Argus, Mount Vernon, NY, printed on Thursday, July 18, 1935:

A little to the southwest of where St. Paul’s Church, Eastchester, now stands, was Guion’s Tavern, facing west. As early as 1728 one William Baker conducted a tavern there, but Charles Guion, who gave to it the name by which it was best known, operated the tavern during the Revolutionary period.
