Justice of the Peace

You to are to be here united in a civil marriage ceremony, performed by me as Justice of the Peace, in accordance with the laws of the State of Connecticut.

The Statute These laws require requires that each of you first answer the following questions:

Your name is ……………………

Do you desire to marry …….

We are met here to join together this man and this woman in matrimony. The relationship is not to be undertaken lightly or ill advisedly, but discreetly and in mutual good faith. It is, I hope, in such spirit I assume you now appear here to be married.

(Man)          Will now have this woman to thy wedded wife? Wilt thou love her, comfort her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others keep the only on to her so long as you both shall live?

(Woman)          Wilt thou take this man to thy wedded husband? Wilt thou serve him, love, honor and keep him in sickness and in health and forsaking all others keep the only on to him so long as you both shall live?

RING.   With this ring I thee wed.

For as much as (M) and (W) have fulfilled the requirements of the state law and have confirmed their vows by giving and receiving a ring, now by the authority vested in me by the state of Connecticut I hereby pronounce them  you to be man Husband and Wife.
