I just came across this picture of my Mom and Dad, Lad and Marian, taken by Maryland Studio in Pasadena. It appears that they were attendants at a wedding, possibly Vern and Dot Eddington. Vern was the Best Man at their wedding. Comparing their wedding picture to this one, it could be the same guy, although this is only a guess. I have no way to confirm. This picture would have been taken some time in 1943 or early 1944, because Lad was transferred to Mississippi in August (Marian joined him there). November 1st, 1944 was the deadline for all wives to leave the base and she left for Trumbull on the 3rd or 4th. In Grandpa’s letter of November 12th, she was in Trumbull, but he didn’t say when she had actually arrived.
Check out the gloves and the peep-toe shoes (Marian loved peep-toes).
