“Liquid Heaven” (10) – Special Places and Memories – Sunsets From Sunset Rock – 1945 – 2022

Our Family Island Retreat was purchased in 1945 from Rusty Heurlin’s family because they no longer used it and Grandpa’s family was growing. Grandpa and his children thoroughly enjoyed any time they spent there.

From now until the end of the summer and possibly into the fall, I will be posting pictures of places on the Island and sharing stories and memories of these unique places. I hope you can enjoy a few peaceful moments while I share these memories with you.

Spring Island - Sunset from Sunset Rock

September, 2020

July, 2022 – This Sunset followed a powerful wind and Hail storm while I was up on the Island

I have other Sunsets but am having a problem getting them from my phone to my computer into my Blog. I will share them when I overcome this obstacle.

Tomorrow I  will begin a week of letters written in July of 1942.

Judy, thank you for sharing your beautiful sunset photos. My favorite is the one taken in July 2022.

Pure Glory – That is one of my favorites also, since it came following a strong wind and hail storm that passed directly over the Island. (We watched the radar screen while it was happening.)The rain was blowing horizontally and blowing into the Sleeping Cabin under the door. The hail was the size of garbanzo beans. It only lasted for about 20 minutes before the sun came out. The sunset that night was glorious.
